YOUTH WORK - THEORY FROM PRACTICE

Youth network for career development - Network KROJ is organizing a workshop entitled Youth work - Theory from practice on 26th October 2018.

Youth work is a voluntary and purposeful activity of a young person in their free time and is connected to an environment outside family, formal education or employment.

This rather dull definition hides a wide range of activities which enable a wholesome development of an individual, allows them to occasionally make mistakes, and offers them a first hand feel of democracy.

This workshop with occasional lecturing inputs will begin at 10 am and finish at 2 pm. It will focus on:

  • what is youth work;
  • what is NOT youth work, but is nonetheless present in youth organizations;
  • why youth work - how does it differ from everything else;
  • subjects in youth sector/field and differences among them;
  • quality criteria in youth work;
  • national vocational qualification youth worker - why the existing criteria and where does it come from.

The workshop will be held by Matej Cepin, an experienced youth worker.

Applications are open until 15th October 2018.

The workshop is organized by Zavod Nefiks, a member organization of Network KROJ.

This project is supported by Municipality of Ljubljana Youth office.
